Pat and Johnny Barber are owners of Cherokee Piano Service. They live in the Hickory Flat community of Cherokee County near Canton. Pat and Johnny grew up in Cherokee County and first met in elementary school. They have three children and six grand children.
Attending Mt. Zion Baptist Church near their home, they enjoy fellowship and worship with other Christians and find opportunities of service and spiritual growth.
Pat is usually the person to answer as you call for information or an appointment. You’ll find her courteous and helpful. Since this is a full time business, she will be able to schedule an appointment at a convenient time for you. Many customers have commented to Johnny how much they enjoyed talking to Pat as they call to schedule an appointment. Cherokee Piano Service values its customers and seeks to provide the level of service that earns loyalty and trust.
Johnny is a graduate, with honors, of The Randy Potter School of Piano Technology, and is a member of the Atlanta chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild. He attends monthly meetings, regional and national conventions and technical institutes hosted by the Piano Technicians Guild. He has attended technical institutes in Atlanta GA, Dallas TX, Ft. Lauderdale FL, Nashville TN, Kansas City MO, and Rochester NY. Johnny has completed the training and testing necessary to become a Registered Piano Technician.
A Registered Piano Technician is a member of the Piano Technicians Guild who has successfully completed a series of tests to ascertain that he is able to tune, repair and regulate a piano competently. Johnny is equipped to repair almost anything that might go wrong with your piano and to tune at a professional level. He has been involved with precision work for many years, having been a machinist for Western Electric, Bell Laboratories, AT&T and Lucent Technologies until 2001.
Most of his customers are families with piano students, but he also serves many accomplished pianists, piano teachers, schools and churches. Johnny prefers to work in North Fulton, Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth, Pickens and Gilmer Counties. He feels that staying close to home allows him to provide a personal level of service and provide very competitive rates.
Cherokee Piano Service offers tuning, repairing and rebuilding of acoustic pianos. They can even help you buy a piano by doing a pre-purchase inspection of a piano you have found and are interested in, or by directing you to a source of new or used pianos.
