Traton Homes employees and vendor partners filled a Cobb Community Transit bus with gifts for Cobb Christmas, an organization that traditionally provides new toys and food to almost 4,000 children during the Christmas season. Through donations collected during November and early December, Traton Homes was able to donate $12,000 worth of toys and gifts to the nonprofit organization.

“We adopted the Cobb Christmas project in 2004 as a way to give back to the community we live in and love, and have since raised $62,000 for the organization. The outpouring of generosity from Traton’s employees and vendors has been remarkable,” said Dale Bercher, COO of Traton Homes. “Many thanks to all of those who helped make this project a huge success. We hope to continue this effort in the coming years and help even more families in need.”

The toys were purchased with $12,000 raised by Traton Homes employees and vendor partners. Employees stuffed a Cobb Community Transit bus, and then sent the toys on the way to area homes via Cobb Christmas.

Cobb Christmas, Inc. is a 44-year-old, nonprofit, non-denominational organization solely dedicated to helping Cobb County’s low-income and working-poor families during the holiday season. The organization provides each child four gifts and a filled stocking. Each family also receives a full box of food. Cobb Christmas is completely managed by volunteers. Over the past five years, Cobb Christmas has helped to provide more than 6,000 families and 16,000 children with gifts of food and toys during the Christmas holiday.
