Gallery 4463 is pleased to announce the opening of our new show " Works on Paper" an exhibit showing the wide range of style and technique in original art employing paper as a media. Watercolors, Pastels, original wood relief prints, etchings and drawings are all an important part of work of many artists. Acrylic painting and oils often represent the high end of the art market, but fine works on paper by artists has been a staple for many collectors and a way to begin a family or corporate collection. Our artists are among the finest in North Georgia and we invite you to a reception for this special exhibit next Friday, April 4Th at 6:30 to 10:00 pm at Gallery 4463.
As a special treat, we will be showing a selection of hand crafted folios from the works of the artists of Studio 22, which was a pioneer fine artists print shop and publisher of limited edition books in Chicago in the 1960's. Featured in this exhibit under glass, will be original pages from "100 views of Chicago," by Bronislaw Bak. Bronislaw Bak who died in 1981, was the husband of Hedi Bak, one of the founding members of Gallery 4463. The Chicago Book was a limited edition of 500 woodcuts and handset typeface that was printed in the shop using a 19Th century Washington hand-press. A full copy of the book can be seen in the
