Residents Graduate from Community Leadership Program

Fourteen participants of the Fair Oaks Community Partners for Change Leadership Program graduated Dec. 2 from an 11 week leadership and empowerment program. The course is offered by the Center for Family Resources’ Community Leadership Development Program and available to all communities in Cobb County.

The purpose of the program is the train residents of low income communities to work together and with local government to be proactive in identifying and addressing neighborhood issues. The curriculum was developed by the University of Georgia’s Fanning Leadership Institute. Among the graduates were District 1 Commissioner Helen Goreham and Ward 3 Councilwoman Holly Walquist.
