Mableton Georgia is a fast growing area in Cobb county, and what was once greatly industrial is now the home to many families and a new charter school. The one time mecca of wholesale distributors, Veterans Memorial Highway has now given way to the sleeker views of grocery stores, drycleaners and upscale residential developments. One of the first arrivals to change the look of Mableton’s Veterans Memorial Highway was The Providence Pavillion shopping center. Nestled high up on the hill just next door to the shopping center is Lillian's Sit N' Sip Coffee Shop. Lillian’s is a coffee shop owned and operated by Cobb resident Lorna Reddicks. Redicks serves hot and cold gourmet coffee drinks, freshly baked pastries, bagels and other specialty food items. Lillian's is a home-like coffee shop where customers are encouraged to “Sit N’ Sip” and stay a while. Area residents have been soaking up the comfortable and modern atmosphere while plugging in their laptops, holding meetings in the provided conference room and lounging in an overstuffed club chair sipping a caramel latte with a friend.

Business has been steady since it’s doors opened in 2005 thanks to it's loyal customer base. As people discover this gem business has continued to grow. Unfortunately, a few months ago, Starbucks was built less than a mile away. When asked if the Starbucks had put a damper on her business Redicks immediately replied, "The day they opened I felt the hit." While some small business owners would be devastated at the arrival of such stiff competition, Reddicks although concerned, is not ready to throw in the towel to the big chain. Instead, she puts her focus into providing quality products and exceptional personal customer service. "If there is something we can do to serve our customers better we will do it." Reddicks declares. Sensing her patrons need for convenience and speed, Lillian's now provides curbside service.

Lillian's was designed not to be your average coffee shop. It provides an array of day and evening activities along with an online calendar of events on the Lillian‘s Sit N‘ Sip website. The Jazz performances, salsa dance lessons, spoken word poetry and Karaoke nights have been especially popular. Reddicks encourages families to come and enjoy themselves by providing high chairs, kids games and has provided professional storytellers for school age kids and instituted story time for the pre-school children of the patrons.
