Life University, located in Marietta, has recently implemented several initiatives to help improve overall health in the community it serves. The university hosts a weekly organic Village Farmers' Market open to the public on Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market offers local, organically grown items, including fresh flowers, nuts, fruits, vegetables, meats and whole grain breads. The market will continue through September and is located on the university campus across from the 19th Century Historic Village and Farm.
Life University also recently opened a new Public Center for Health and Optimum Performance, also know as C-HOP. The facility will be used to better serve practice partners and educate chiropractic students. Along with physical exams and chiropractic adjustments, C-HOP will provide community health lectures, nutritional evaluations, health coaches and the latest X-ray technology. The center is open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3 to 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
