Good Mews Animal Foundation, Atlanta’s original volunteer-based non-profit no-kill cage free animal shelter has an opportunity to win a free makeover of $5,000, and up to $1million, from the http://www.zootoo.com/makeover website.

Good Mews is asking the community’s support as the award is based upon the number of people who register for free at the ZooToo, the website that brings pet lovers together, and select Good Mews as their favorite shelter (search for Zip Code 30068). By doing things like rating their vets and pet stores, adding comments, posting pictures of their pets, etc. you can increase the chances of Good Mews reaching their goal. Deadline is March 31, 2008.

Visit Good Mews at www.goodmews.org for additional details, more about the shelter and how you can help. You may also call 770-499-CATS (2287) for more information.

Good Mews, with over 100 cats and kittens available for adoption, is located at 736 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta in the Fountains at Olde Towne Center, just North of Lower Roswell Road. Adoption hours are each Saturday from 10am-4pm, the first & third Sundays of each month from 1pm-4pm or by appointment. Offsite adoptions are conducted the 3rd Saturday of every month at the Merchants Walk PetsMart in Marietta from 10AM - 4PM and at Pawsibilities in Roswell on the 4th Sunday of every month from 10AM - 4PM. Proud to be celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, Good Mews has placed approximately 5,000 cats in permanent homes and, in 2007, was named a Best Place to Adopt a Pet by the readers of Atlanta Magazine.

All proceeds benefit Good Mews Animal Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which operates a no-kill shelter for homeless, abused and abandoned cats. Located at 736 Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, the shelter provides a cage-free home for its residents, allowing them freedom and security while assertive adoption programs find them happy, loving homes. Good Mews has a strong commitment to the practice of spaying and neutering as the most important step in stemming the explosion of unwanted pets. Other programs promote public awareness regarding the value of pets, animal welfare, and quality human-animal companionship through education and outreach programs.
