Kennesaw Celebrates Independence Day July 3

Published Jun 20, 2008

The City of Kennesaw will celebrate the Independence Day holiday on Thursday, July 3 with a free concert at the Historic Depot in Downtown Kennesaw, followed by a patriotic fireworks show.

The free concert begins at 8 p.m. and is described as “the escape for those who never stopped believin’.” Frontiers - A Tribute to Journey will perform a FREE outdoor concert at Kennesaw’s historic train Depot. The concert is the third of five in the City of Kennesaw’s 2008 Summer Concert Series. Comprised of music veterans sharing a lifelong love and respect for the music of the band Journey, Frontiers recreates the early-80s era from the sound and dress to the energy of the band that ruled the arena rock circuit for a decade.

At dark, concertgoers will also be treated to a patriotic FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA, as the City of Kennesaw presents its annual pre-Independence Day “celebration in the sky”.

While concertgoers can enjoy the show from any number of vantage points, a limited number of tables located directly in front of the performance area are available for only $50 per table. Each six-foot rectangular table seats six persons (chairs are included). The Depot is located at 2828 Cherokee Street in Kennesaw, across the street from the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History.
