Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers Win First Place at Geranium Festival

The Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers competition team, under the direction of Lisa Buck, won first place in the amateur elementary traditional line division at the Geranium Festival Clogging Competition on May 17. The competition was held at the Henry County Performing Arts Center in McDonough, Georgia, and is sanctioned by the National Clogging and Hoedown Council (NCHC).

Members of the Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers competition team include Tatum Bjerklie, Danica Bjerklie, Jessica Buettel, Marion Clayton, Sarah Maes, Janna Mehlberg, Elly Thames and Bernadette McKeon-Warnock. The competition team was formed in September 2007.

Individual dancers with the Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers performance teams also competed in solo categories. Congratulations to the following dancers: Marion Clayton, junior category, 1st place; Sarah Maes, elementary division, 1st place; and Geneva Bjerklie, adult category, 1st place.

The Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers competition team will travel to Dublin, Georgia on June 21 to compete in the Georgia State Clogging Competition.
