After presenting the idea of building business partnerships at February’s North Fulton Chamber of Commerce meeting, Andy Williams of Staffing Priorities contacted Chrysalis Director, Richard Becker with plans to make a difference.

After meeting a few days later, the two businesses entered into an Educational Partnership and made plans to further support Senior, Will Vander Veen and his Spring Break mission trip to Haiti with Hope for Haiti. Andy, as General Manager of Staffing Priorities donated a solar powered water purification system for Will to deliver to the hospital and orphanage where he will be using his carpentry skills for the week.

This equipment system contains a 45 psi self-priming pump that pulls water from any available source of non-salinated water, such as surface water, wells, swamps, etc. All Responder Water Purifiers purify up to 60 gallons per minute of cleaner, safer, purified drinking and decontamination water. It effectively kills a minimum of 99.9999% of bacteria and harmful organics.

To display the amazing abilities of the system the senior class, with Andy’s help, took water from the schools heavily used carpet cleaner. The students and faculty were amazed when they all sampled the water after the purification process to find it as promised, drinkable and quite refreshing.

The purifier will serve as the water system within a local hospital and orphanage in a Hope For Haiti location; transforming the quality of service, as well as the lives of everyone who comes to the clinic for treatment and for all the children and staff at the orphanage.

This project exemplifies the power of one. One dream of one student has effectively reached many ~ from the students and parents of Chrysalis as they raise the funds through various student activities and generous pockets to a church school group who plans to hold a drive to collect school supplies and now to the involvement of a business to change the lives of a village in Haiti.
