City Manager Bill Bruton has announced the hiring of Sam Lady as Marietta's new director of Finance. He will be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the financial operations for all city and Board of Lights and Water services.

"Sam has a great personality and is excited about his future with the city," Bruton said.

Mr. Lady has over 20 years of experience as a chief financial officer, director or management information systems and controller in the public and private sectors. He earned a master's degree in business administration from Murray State University, and for the last 11 years worked for the city of Paducah, Kentucky.
