The city of Marietta will accept applications for the positions of firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) April 21 through May 2. Applications can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the Personnel Department on the third floor of City Hall, 205 Lawrence Street. 

A completed application is required and all applications must be submitted during the two-week recruiting period. Applications received either before or after these dates will not be considered. Testing will take place on Saturday, May 3 and Thursday, May 8. Marietta's Personnel Department will assign the test date and time when applications are received.

Requirements include

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Minimum high school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory seven-year driving history, including no DUIs or BUIs (boating under the influence) within five years, or excessive violations
• Ability to meet physical and mental demands of the position
• Must become certified as a Georgia Firefighter/EMT within one year of hire

Marietta is also accepting applications for police officer.
