Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers Compete in State Clogging Competition

The Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers competition team recently traveled to Dublin, Ga, to compete in the 9th Annual Georgia State Clogging Competition on June 21 where they won second place in the traditional line dancing category. The competition was sponsored by the Georgia Clogging Leaders Association (GLCA).

Members of the Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers competition team include Tatum Bjerklie, Danica Bjerklie, Jessica Buettel, Marion Clayton, Sarah Maes, Janna Mehlberg, Elly Thames and Bernadette McKeon-Warnock.

During the competition, Sarah Maes was named to the GLCA’s All-State Clogging Team – only one of eight dancers in the state to be recognized for this accomplishment. In 2007, fellow team member Farrah Thames was named to the All-State Clogging Team.

Individual dancers with the Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers performance teams also competed in solo categories. Congratulations to Grace Buck who won 3rd place in the solo category.

The Kennesaw Mountain Cloggers competition team will travel to Greenville, S.C. on Aug. 2 to compete in the Summer Fest Competition.
