There's no need to travel halfway around the world for your child to receive quality soccer instruction. During the summer of 2008, the City of Kennesaw is offering world-class camps and weekly classes by talented coaches in a safe, stimulating and fun environment.

Upcoming programs include:

British Soccer Camp
Challenger Sports' British Soccer Camps offer the ultimate soccer experience; addressing the technical, tactical, physical and psychological requirements of the game at every level. Each day, a team of international coaches will help players practice and master new individual skills. Equally important, the Challenger coaching staff provides lessons in self-discipline, good sportsmanship and respect for others and for the game. Challenger's ever-popular Camp World Cup Tournament allows coaches to introduce players to the geography, traditions and culture of other great soccer-playing countries. Simply put, amazing coaches, awesome accents and cultural ingredients combine for a one-of-a-kind camp experience. With each week-long camp, each child will receive a free camp shirt, free camp ball, personal player evaluation and an end of camp gift.

British Soccer Camps will be offered at Adams Park from June 2-6 and August 4-8. Full day, half day and mini-soccer programs are available for youth ages 4-15.

Brazilian Style Soccer Camp
Receive top-level soccer instruction from former professional player Daniel dos Santos and his trained staff. Daniel has developed an innovative style of teaching that is fun, fresh, challenging and adaptive to meet the game's changing demands and each player's specific needs. The goal of each week at camp is not only to improve soccer skills, but also to motivate and inspire, build self-esteem and increase confidence in players. Campers will feel a sense of accomplishment, direction and eagerness to start playing with their teams in the fall. Daniel and his staff maintain a low camper-to-staff member ratio of 10:1 for younger players and 12:1 for older players.

Beginning players will learn soccer through fun games such as "Cat and Mice", "Superman", "Sharks" and "Indians and Cowboys". For intermediate and advanced-level players, we will focus on skill development (technical training) in the morning, and scrimmages and World Cup competitions (tactical training) in the afternoon. All campers will receive one commemorative camp t-shirt for the summer, and a trophy at the end of each week of camp. Every Friday, campers will compete for the following trophies: Shooting Champion, Dribbling Champion, Goalie Champion, Sportsmanship Champion, Most Improved and Most Valuable Player.

Brazilian Style Soccer Camps will be offered at Adams Park from June 9-13, June 16-20 and June 23-27. Full day and half day programs are available for youth ages 6-15.

SoccerTots Classes
Soccer Tots is a child physical development program that utilizes a variety of fun games to delight and engage young children in physical activity. Classes are designed to develop motor skills, promote fitness and create self-confidence. Professionally trained instructors will lead classes using a variety of props, songs and games to engage children in participation activities. The instructor/child ratios are kept small and all classes are co-ed. SoccerTots stresses the development of simple motor skills such as: balance, kicking, running, jumping, dribbling, foot-eye coordination, running control as well as listening and following instructions in a non-competitive environment. All participants will receive a commemorative SoccerTots t-shirt.

SoccerTots classes for youth ages 27 months and up will be offered at the Ben Robertson Community Center beginning in May.
