TownPark Village Townhomes Bring Urban Lifestyle to North Cobb

Published Jun 23, 2008

At a grand opening, “mixed-use mixer,” Atlanta Regional Commission Chairman Sam Olens, who is also Chairman of the Cobb County Commission, praised The Columns Group and Taylor & Mathis for their leadership in bringing the live, work, play lifestyle to North Cobb County with the construction of The Village at TownPark. When complete, the master planned community will incorporate 37 luxurious townhomes priced from $349,000, more than 243 acres of planned office parks, retail shops and restaurants, and an Embassy Suites hotel.

“This is exactly what we needed,” said Olens, referring to the first mixed use project in the Town Park area. “I’d love to live right there, have my office across the street and food within walking distance.”

“The Columns Group and Taylor & Mathis are leading the larger Atlanta area in embracing the advantages of mixed-use communities,” said Al Nash, Executive Vice President of The Columns Goup. “Walkable communities, energy conservation, short commutes and urban-style living are not just for downtown Atlanta. The inherent benefits translate anywhere.”

The grand opening celebration also included comments by Town Center Community Improvement District (CID) Chairman T.E. “Skip” Spann, who appreciates the “connectivity” brought to the area by TownPark Village. Andrew Taylor, president of TownPark developer Taylor & Mathis, and Curtis Hicks, president of TownPark Village developer The Columns Group, also made remarks.

Cobb County Chamber of Commerce Chairman Sam Kelly commended The Columns Group and Taylor & Mathis for investing in the community. “I can’t think of a better investing tool than to have this produce in Cobb County,” he said.

Invited guests enjoyed a live band and a Taste of TownPark with food by the community’s restaurants (Panera Bread, Taco Mac, 5 Guys, Chick-Fil-A, Dip n Dots, Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Embassy Suites), along with a decadent chocolate bar housed in the townhome model, which was built by John Thomas Homes.

Committed to the development of quality driven properties, The Columns Group has developed some of the City of Atlanta’s most popular communities, including Inman Park Village in historic Inman Park and Brownstones at Habersham in Buckhead. One of only a few metro Atlanta residential developers whose experience encompasses single-family detached, multi-family and high-rise residential properties, The Columns Group has relationships in place with several developers, builders and financial sources. The company draws from an in-house management team with years of proven experience in core real estate capabilities. The firm is a committed developer in its own right, and through its subsidiary brokerage company, Paces Ferry Realty, LLC, is able to create and implement sales and marketing programs that benefit its builder clients. As a premier supplier of developed lots in the metro Atlanta area, most of the major national, regional and local homebuilders look to The Columns Group for their lot inventories. Its capabilities and record of success also have prompted several financial organizations and investors to engage the company to develop and market their properties to builders and homebuyers.
