The Cobb County Public Libraries’ third annual vacation reading program is going on now through July 31 for young adults in grades 6th through 12th.

This year’s literacy program, ‘Metamorphosis@Your Library,’ is intended to encourage young adults to read throughout the summer. The CCPL staff is supporting this year’s program by hosting a variety of free activities geared toward young adults. Activities include ‘Teen Book Reviews,’ prize drawings, and special events.

Book review participates can select any book, fill out a teen review form and turn the form in to library staff. By writing a review of his or her chosen book, members are automatically entered to win prizes in drawings that will take place Aug. 11. Prizes include two MP3 players for a county-wide drawing, and several $20 gift cards to area book stores. Book review forms are available at all Cobb County Public Libraries. Youth can have up to ten entries in the drawing.

Along with the book review program, several libraries are offering a range of activities for teens. These include film programs, book discussion groups, hands-on crafts, and games. For information visit one of the 17 Cobb County Public Libraries or log on to http://www.cobbcat.org/Children.htm.

The CCPL is a non-profit organization whose mission it is to promote interest in reading and to support research, knowledge, and cultural enrichment for all people.
