Christopher Bruckner was the campaign manager for the Gary Beebe campaign. Today, Chris has broken his silence and issued the following letter to Cumminghome.com:

First, I want to apologize to my friends, neighbors, and acquaintances for getting them involved in anyway in the Beebe campaign. I am terribly sorry for those of you who had to address the media to defend yourself in the wake of this terrible incident. I am ashamed and sickened to have been working so closely with Mr. Beebe and not suspecting that he was not the person he claimed to be. I brought Mr. Beebe before many of you and vouched for his character. I asked you for your support of Gary’s campaign. Many of you helped by giving your time, giving campaign contributions, my hosting meet and greets, and some by lending your name to the campaign. I am sorry that I was not able to see through Beebe’s facade and I hope you’ll forgive me for this mistake.

As we all saw in the media these past few days, Gary Beebe’s world is one of intensely questionable behavior. He has not been honest with us. He has not demonstrated any level of integrity with us. And he has not been accountable for his actions. Gary Beebe has let us all down. His world is not the world I live in. His ethics and morality are not mine. I don’t believe the ends can ever justify the means. His view of what is wrong and right is opposite of mine. I am no longer associated with his campaign whatsoever.

Because of the campaign consulting work I have done on previous campaigns, Gary Beebe sought me out to help him with the technical aspects of his campaign. Things like structuring a campaign, public speaking, organizing volunteers, education on the issues and campaign literature and flyers were my responsibility. I addressed many issues and questions with Gary over the course of the past several months and, just as many of you did, I found his answers to be forthright, thoughtful and sincere. Gary had assured us that there was nothing in his background that would have kept us from thinking of him as anything but a candidate that was only interested in the well being of our community.

My goal in this campaign was to put someone in charge that would improve law enforcement in Forsyth County. I want to see better budget and resource management, more officers patrolling our neighborhoods, lower crime and lower traffic accidents. These are the reasons why I was motivated to work on this campaign, as many of you were.

Sincerely,

Christopher Bruckner
